Surveying , Picking and Donating
All new pickers are surveyors until they build their book. This means you create relationships with new homeowners each year and eventually, you no longer need the project to connect with known productive properties. Initially, a new picker will receive picking requests that are un vetted and will require a visit and possibly some homeowner education to determine ripeness / taste and quality. this part of picker development and all pickers go through it. After 3 to 5 seasons most pickers have a list of trees /properties and they get called directly by Their favorite homeowners and pick very few unvetted properties. Once you have picked ripe, edible fruit, you sort, weigh and photograph your donating and deliver it to a local non profit of your choosing or from this list.
